The
point of this assignment is for you to learn to edit and post
images in the content (foreground) areas of your web pages. (We will
learn to correctly hande background images when we learn about css in
Book 2.)
Install one of the following image manipulation
programs: PhotoShop (from the College network), PhotoScape or Gimp
Chose at least one image to incorporate into each of your
four pages. (This means at least four images.)
Make COPIES of these image and place the copies into your
website folder.
Use an image manipulation program to resize all of the
images to the size you want them to appear on the page.
(Using width and height tags to resize is horribly bad, so
pleae
don't do it or credit will be very significantly reduced!!!)
Alter one of these images in a rather significant way
using one or more filters.
Change the names of each of these images so that they are
meaningful and have no spaces or other characters which are illegal for
the web.
Using
the img tag with a relative src reference to make these
images appear ebbedded in your pages. Each of these img tags
must
correctly use alt, width, and height attributss which do not alter the
image size.
Also,
be sure that NONE of the submitted pages have any style
elements
of any kind embedded in the html or in an external style sheet.
Put all of your pages in a folder. Name
this
folder yourusername-website.
For example, mine would be pearcej-website. Then
rightclick on this folder and zip it.
In the Moodle A3 submission area, submit the
zipped folder, yourusername-website.
